Understanding Indiana PT Professional Development Requirements
The Indiana Physical Therapy Committee requires all licensed PTs and certified PTAs to demonstrate ongoing professional development. Indiana measures these mandates in Continuing Competency Hours across a biennial timeline ending on June 30th of even-numbered years.
What Counts for Indiana PT Category 1 and 2 Hours?
Indiana separates continuing competence activities into Category I (Formal/Certified Programs) and Category II (Self-Directed Activities). To count as a Category I activity, a course must be relevant to physical therapy and approved by an authorized health organization or another state's physical therapy licensing board.
Because our nutrition program holds board approval, our courses fully satisfy Indiana Category I requirements.
The Biennial Hourly Breakdown
- Physical Therapists (PT) & Assistants (PTA): 22 continuing competency hours total every two years.
- Category I Minimum: A minimum of 10 hours must be earned through structured Category I courses. Our 12-hour bundle satisfies this baseline entirely.
- Mandatory Subjects: At least 2 hours of your total must be from an approved Ethics and Indiana Jurisprudence course.

© 2026 Nutritional PT Courses are approved by the Florida Board of Physical Therapy, an approved provider of the APTA. Prospective students desiring continuing education credit are urged to check with their state continuing education requirements before enrolling in our programs. Some courses may require individual board verification. It is the participant’s responsibility to verify if their licensing agency accepts reciprocity with the Florida Board of Physical Therapy Association. We are happy to provide each registrant with documentation needed to submit to their own licensing board for individual approval. The Company is not currently a BOC, AOTA, or CME provider.
